2 thinks for 5 stars

Il ne manque que 2 évolutions pour avoir 5 étoiles : - synchroniser les notes au format RTF (et non txt) afin davoir les images/styles présents sur le Mac - rendre cette app iPad ready. Merci pour votre travail. He misses only two changes for 5 stars : - Synchronize notes to RTF (not txt) to get the images / styles presents on the Mac - Make this app iPad ready. Thank you for your work.

Great app but sync sucks

I just lost many notes due to a sync problem between iPhone and iPad. I do not recommend this app :-(

Pas dimages (no pictures !)

Très bonne pour le Mac, mais très insuffisante pour liPhone, car cette appli nintègre pas les images ! Very good on the Mac, bad on iPhone : no picture sync !

Crashes with Dropbox.

Dropbox functionality not working after updates. Wont see my Dropbox folder, and if I try to create a new file it crashes.

Very good but...

It would be very nice to be able to move posts between data files. Currently it is not possible to move an entry from MacJournal data on IPhone and an ICloud data file.

Quite good, but...

I´m using this plus the mac version and everything works nicely, only password-protected journals will not be synced. I got a lot of journals for my company website, and i really won´t leave them unsecured. Is there any chance to change this in the next version? Thanks!

Disappointed! Can not edit and add new entries

Every time when I add new entry, it discards my new content and goes to the last entry....... It is now worse than before.

Just not quite there

I, like many other have been long awaiting this app. It is so fantastic to keep a mobile journal and sync back to the desktop. It all works well except for a few annoyance. First, the formatting. Well, it is nowhere near to what I have on the desktop. Its all there in its plain entirety, and looks just like a basic txt editor. Also the syncing is not quite automatic. I have to choose the server and the method each and every time. Sure these things are not a big deal, and i would recommend this, but for $5 i expected a lot more. Perhaps in an upcomning update?

Needs Some Improvement

I thought that for this much money the app would be near flawless. I really appreciate the ability to sync and that there is a password option. But the fact that it cant handle any formatting is a bit ridiculous. It cant even show hyperlinks from my downloaded blogs. I think it should work like a browser and not lose your formatting if you have to edit entries. I also think it should have a built in browser like most twitter clients so that it can open hyperlinks and display photos. Even though I like syncing its kind of useless if not done properly. And maybe we should bug Apple to allow Sync conduits like on the old Palms so just plugging it in will sync during normal iPod connections

I was expecting more

After using MacJournal for the Mac for several years, I was expecting more from this app. I could not sync the app and definitely it is not worth the 5 bucks. I have been using cheaper apps that work better and are more beautiful. It feels like a waste of money. The apps should have a 15 day trial period so we could get our money back if we do not like them.

Needs improvement, but has potential

I find MacJournal to be most useful for creating journal entries on the go - not so much for publishing them. Personally, I dont care that styled text isnt supported, but its a bit mind-boggling that links are stripped out as well - I consider links to be part of the text, not an enhancement like font colors, italics, and the other extraneous fluff that usually comes to mind when I think about styled text. While MacJournal is capable of publishing directly from the app, there dont seem to be any options for the posts status. The desktop version (with a bit of tinkering) allows blog posts to be sent as drafts, and I rely on that option because I prefer to publish my posts directly from WordPress. Lacking the option to post as a draft combined with the lack of support for links makes this app unsuitable for my uses in terms of publishing. However, it works like a charm for journal entries that I dont intend to publish. For entries that I do post online, I just copy and paste. Its not ideal, but Ive got my fingers crossed that future versions will get closer to suiting my needs.

Mobile photo support after iMac sync

Im liking the idea very much of the mobile version of the app, but I do miss not having the pictures I place in the computer Macjournal on the mobile device. I create, in part, lists of items to purchase with pictures, but how can I make comparison when I go out to shop for the item? Regards

One hit wonder?

Even if I could rate it a zero I wouldnt. Although it has frustrated me enough. Ill give it a 2. One for installing with a hitch, another point for the initial sync. Unfortunately, it only gave me one sync. Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted app, re-downloaded, re-installed. Nothing. It always syncs once, then wont do it again. That once was nice though.

Easy to use & sync

This is a simple way of tracking your history for personal and business contacts. I have simple categories or names under which I do a history. I then email to myself and move to a followup system like "Things". It is a contact management system like ACT but the it doesnt cost $300 either! I wish they had an iPad version.

Love it!

This app works flawlessly. I love it. I love that I can send myself thoughts just before I drift off to sleep. I love the security of the simple passwords. I love the way it syncs perfectly with MacJournal desktop app. The only thing that I would like to see differently is when you add a new entry the option to add a new journal comes before an option to add a new entry. Ive only added two journals, and dozens of entries, so it would make sense the first button would be for an entry. I have yet to find a better app for journaling.

bad app

very very bad app crashes every time i open encrypted journal really needs updates this app is not worth $5 dont buy

How about some simple iPhone functionality.

How about some link and image functions. Gps/location. Audio record

Fine for my needs

Ive been looking for a way to carry, edit and add to my desktop MacJournal notes. This app does it smoothly. Im not a blogger, so I dont care much about formatting. As a creative writer, I now have constant access to my huge pile of story and novel ideas and Im very happy about that. That said, its a little pricey for what it does. IMHO, Mariners prices have always been a little high.

Love it

Im really happy with this app. Ive had MacJournal on my Mac for a while and this REALLY fills in the gaps. I love that it syncs with my Mac, I dont know if there is any other app that will do that. I only use this as a journal, not for blogging and Im really happy with it. I look forward to updates and more features (but I dont have any suggestions of what they should be).

1.4 not ready

1.4 has been released, but is not ready. The app shows a "beta" warning when it opens, and the sync button disappeared. You can still touch in the place where the sync button is supposed to be, and the app will sync... but theres no button icon to make this clear.
